Title: Boris Johnson’s Belief that There is No Reason for Further Devolution

Motion Text:
That the Parliament notes with concern the comments of the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, who is reported to have said that there is no reason to devolve further powers to the Scottish Parliament; notes with interest Mr Johnson’s recent revelation that he hopes to be elected to the UK Parliament in 2015; further notes that the Prime Minister has referred to Boris Johnson as being one of his star players whom he wants “on the pitch”, and considers that Boris Johnson’s comments reveal how most Conservative MPs feel about Scotland and questions the Better Together campaign’s “more powers guaranteed” assertions in the event of a no vote to independence, when one of the most senior Conservatives in the UK is so reticent about the people of Scotland making their own decisions.
