S4M-01163 John Mason (Glasgow Shettleston) (Scottish National Party): That the Parliament notes that 27 October 2011 marks 1,000 days until the opening of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow; welcomes recent news that the facilities, currently being built in the east end of Glasgow, are on time and on budget; looks forward to the opening of the Commonwealth Games and the opportunity to showcase Glasgow and Scotland to the rest of the world, and considers that the facilities being built in Glasgow’s east end will leave a lasting legacy that involves significant regeneration of the area and provides a welcome economic boost to Glasgow and wider Scotland.
