MSP ENCOURAGES LOCAL JOB HUNTERS TO APPLY FOR CONSTITUENCY POST

14 Jun 2011

Newly elected MSP for Glasgow Shettleston, John Mason, is encouraging local job hunters to apply for the post of Office Administrator in his East End constituency office.

John Mason, who won the Shettleston seat at May’s Holyrood election, has been advertising in the Evening Times job section with a view to attracting applications from a broad spectrum of people, passionate about standing up for the East End and its residents.

Commenting, John Mason MSP said:

“I would encourage as many local people as possible to consider applying for the role of Office Administrator in my new East End advice office.

“As an MP, I placed job adverts for the posts in my Shettleston constituency office and I pledged to do the exact same if elected to Holyrood this time around. At a time when politicians are under greater scrutiny than ever before, I think it is vital to be open and transparent about how parliamentary allowances are being used, and that is exactly why I have chosen to advertise this post in the Evening Times.

“I would welcome applications from a variety of people, particularly those with experience in office administration and casework”.

The advert appeared in the Evening Times job section last Friday and Monday. The closing date for applications is Monday 20th June.
