S4M-10175: Recognition of Bank Governor’s Comments

29 May 2014

That the Parliament recognises the recent comments by the Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, when he called for more action to be taken on inequality; concurs with his view that more needs to be done in the wake of multiple financial manipulation scandals to improve the regulation of markets; expresses concern at his suggestion that a culture of greed has led to a diminished equality of opportunity in society; agrees with him that this has discouraged public trust in financial systems, and pledges to do what it can to improve and protect social mobility.
