Job Title:      Parliamentary Assistant (Part Time, Temporary)

Salary:           £9.24 per hour (15 to 19 hours per week)

A temporary 6-month position has arisen in the Constituency Office of John Mason, MSP for Glasgow Shettleston.  The part-time post involves Thursday and Friday working (9am to 5pm) plus a half day (negotiable).

You will be a self-motivated individual, able to manage your workload, work on your own initiative and work to challenging deadlines.  You should have a good local knowledge of the East End of Glasgow and also demonstrate a strong understanding of Scottish politics in general, the Scottish National Party in particular, and current political issues in the period leading up to the Referendum.

You will be part of the team dealing with constituency casework.  There may also be responsibilities in providing the Member with briefings ahead of debates, meetings and events and in communicating with the media.
