WIFI TO BE INSTALLED AT DALMARNOCK STATION

17 May 2013

Dalmarnock’s MSP, John Mason, has welcomed news that Dalmarnock Station is to have free WiFi installed as part of SNP Scottish Government plans.

News of the investment came as the Transport Minister Keith Brown announced 25 stations across Scotland where free WiFi will be installed for passengers, with seven of those announced in the City of Glasgow. This sees Glasgow receive more WiFi  investment than any other region.

Welcoming the Transport Minister’s announcement, local MSP John Mason said:

“This is good news for Dalmarnock and the surrounding areas.  This station is likely to be hugely busy for major sports events and WiFi will be of enormous benefit to those using it on those occasions.

“Residents will be aware that Dalmarnock Station is just about ready to open to the public and will be a major hub for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, so I’m delighted that The Scottish Government have included this station along with another 6 in the city.  As a community, Dalmarnock is in the process of being totally transformed and the population is set to increase significantly after the Commonwealth Games, so this investment reaffirms the SNP Government’s commitment to investing in the area as part of a wider regeneration strategy.”
