S4M-06301: Building a Fairer Scotland

24 Apr 2013

S4M:06301 John Mason (Glasgow Shettleston) (Scottish National Party): That the Parliament regrets what it considers the growing divergence between wealthy and poor people in Glasgow, Scotland and the UK; notes that, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, the combined wealth of Scotland’s richest 100 people is £21 billion; considers that wealth accumulating in so few hands inevitably means less money for the poorest in society, and notes the view that, whatever Scotland’s constitutional status, taxation and other powers available to governments should be used to redress this imbalance.
