The afternoon of Friday 23 January will see the official opening of John Mason’s Glasgow East Constituency Office at 888 Shettleston Road, Glasgow.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be performed at 1.00pm by Scotland’s Deputy First Minister – and Govan MSP – Nicola Sturgeon. The whole of that afternoon, from 12noon until 5.00pm, will have an ‘open day’ format, so that East End residents have an opportunity to have a look around the Constituency Office and have a chat with John in an informal, social setting.
John Mason, SNP MP for Glasgow East, said:
“My constituency stretches from Craigend to Carmyle, and from Swinton on the edge of the city right in to Camlachie. I hope that the open day event will be attended by people from the many diverse communities that I represent.
“I am grateful to Nicola for taking time out from her busy schedule to carry out the opening ceremony for my Constituency Office. In the best modern tradition, the official opening is taking place a few months after my office opened its doors to the public, as my three staff have been based there since October.
“My office is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, so every day is technically an open day – even if I am working at Westminster. However, many people who might be intimidated by an office environment should find the open afternoon much more relaxing.”
